Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters," is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls -- the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park can also be used as a starting point for the Appalachian Trail. An 8.5 mile approach trail leads from the park to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,135-mile Appalachian Trail. The park is located 15 miles northwest of Dawsonville on Ga. Hwy. 52. Take Hwy. 53 west to Hwy. 183 north to Hwy. 52 east. Top of PageDo you know of a Place that should be included here?
