In addition to Emory College, the University encompasses a graduate school of arts and sciences; professional schools of medicine, theology, law, nursing, public health, and business; and Oxford College, a two-year undergraduate division on the original campus of Emory in Oxford, Ga. The medical school has six departments ranked among the top 10 departments and programs nationally and the Candler School of Theology is considered to be one of the country’s finest. The School of Medicine is part of the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center, which encompasses the components of Emory University concerned with patient care, education of health professionals, research affecting health and illness, and policies for prevention and treatment of diseases. Emory is located in the historic Druid Hills neighborhood, about 7 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, three miles from downtown Decatur, and about two miles from the Virginia Highlands neighborhood.
